The Phantom of The Opera is so damn sad.
Why can't Christine just love the phantom? Just because he has a scarred face? He was the one who made her who she was.
And Raoul shouldn't have Christine. In the first place, he didn't bother finding her after her dad died. If he really was meant for her, he would have recognized her immediately when he first saw her. He only noticed when she sang beautifully.
and sure, the phantom killed people. But it's not like he's a normal human. He has a deformed face, doesn't talk or show himself to anybody, lives in some old torture chamber below the opera house. And since he is so obsessed with christine that he even has some statue that looks exactly like her, he is obviously psychotic.
Christine should have just given the phantom a chance. Everything he did was for her. He left her alone when she was married, but continued to love her all the way, still visitig her grave after she died.

Sigh, look how happy he was when he thought Christine loved him back.
